Modern machines and commercial vehicles have numerous covers and hatches.

For maintenance purposes, it should be possible for one person to safely open and close the covers. In the folded-up state, it must be possible to secure any covers, since their accidental closing might cause injuries and damage to the machine.

Function

The use of matched gas pressure springs from STABILUS allows opening doors of all sizes easily and comfortably. In addition to the holding force, a stop tube that latches in the open state can be mounted on the gas spring. After that, the door can only be closed with the intentional push of a button. Often, the damping of the gas spring is used to control the door speed and to reduce stress on the body.
