The tailgates of pick-up trucks are often secured by a steel cable only.

A safety deficit with potential consequences: Uncontrolled dropping of the heavy tailgates carries with it a high risk of injury. STABILUS USA developed a damper particularly for this problem, the “EZ Down,” which can be retrofitted on most pick-up trucks.

Function

Installed on both sides of the tailgate, the automatic EZ Down damper lets the tailgate slide down gently and safely. Additional holding will not be necessary. Another advantage: The system can be retrofitted by anyone within minutes.
